Spring Haiku

hopeful scattered seeds

germination underground

darkness into light

waking up in spring

summer shines before us

winter gasps behind

sighing soft new grass

calf lashes curling upward

swallows scratch the sky

watching her at play

the silence interrupted

tractor coming close

flying ladybird

red and black across my gaze

settles on grey rock

eyes sticky with sleep

the end of hibernation

squeaking trampoline

springtime snow globe shakes

the sound of branches creaking

blossoms in our hair

swirling ice cream sky

reflecting on her iris

never ending day

singsong chirping thrush

green grasshopper orchestra

impossible sounds

silent butterfly

a beginning and an end

slowly melting sun
